Work orders are entered in the CMMS for all ITPM tasks (except daily activities performed by operators), including inspections of emergency response equipment normally performed by ERT personnel and infrequent ITPM tasks performed by operators.
The written emergency response program, or a subordinate document, should clearly delineate between those incidents that operators should respond to and those that should be handled by the facility's emergency response team (ERT) or equivalently trained outside responders.
This is often the leader of the ERT, typically a person very skilled in directing emergency response activities.
This assignment can be a good fit, and usually works well as long as this individual is aware of the full range of emergency management activities and actively champions issues that extend beyond the ERT.
